About the Association

“Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many.”

1 Corinthian 12:14

“Working together as One”

“Saint Francis Community Services is one body of many members.  A body made up of the children under our care, their parents, staff, volunteers, and donors.  This body’s urgent task of restoring health and wholeness to children and families requires contribution from each member.  Every member is appreciated for their support, motivation for giving, and their unique history with Saint Francis.”

The Saint Francis Alumni and Friends Association strives to unite the members of the Saint Francis family so that we may work as one, helping children and families in need.

Who are Saint Francis Alumni and Friends?

Saint Francis alumni and friends are individuals who believe in the mission of “Therapy in Christ” as an instrument of healing for children and families in need.

Alumni are individuals who were involved as a resident or participant in a Saint Francis program.

Friends of the association are parents/guardians/grandparents of alumni, current and past Saint Francis staff, board members, donors, and resource families who have given their time, talent, and treasure for the promotion of helping and healing children and families in need.

Our Mission

The mission of the Saint Francis Alumni and Friends Association is to bring together individuals whose lives have been positively impacted by the ministry, staff, and services of Saint Francis in effort to further promote, serve, and share in the interest and welfare of healing children, youths, and families through “Therapy in Christ.”

The Vision

The Saint Francis Alumni and Friends Association, formerly known as the “Association of Former Residents of the St. Francis Homes,” consists of Saint Francis alumni and friends who believe in the mission of “Therapy in Christ” as an instrument of healing for children and families in need.

Members of the association have witnessed and experienced, first-hand, the life changing impact that Saint Francis’ support, commitment, programs, and staff provide in the healing of youths and families.  Through the impact of this association, members can play an important role in the mission and ministry of the agency.

The vision is to build a long-standing community that fosters fellowship, friendship, and connectivity among alumni and friends of Saint Francis.  Members have the opportunity to reestablish friendships and contribute to the ministry through their collective gifts of time, talent, or treasure.  Together, members can raise awareness of Saint Francis and its current programs among fellow alumni, friends, family, and community members.  Each individual can make a difference in his/her own way by sharing the mission of St. Francis; volunteering in new programs and special events; helping with development efforts; considering a personal donation when possible; and, promoting as well as participating in the interest and welfare of the work being done to help children and families in need.

Beyond the Tree Line

“We’re out there in Western Kansas about the place where the tree line sort of ends, but in where I think sometimes that the eternal things of God begin.”
-Fr. Bob Mize, 1954, Founder of Saint Francis Community Services

Beyond the tree line is a place where growth is thought to be limited or unattainable. However, upon closer look, the end of the tree line may actually be the transition into something new and beautiful. As our founding father, Fr. Bob, stated , the tree line’s end can be a place of new beginnings, where the “. . . eternal things of God begin.” In honor of new beginnings, we are excited to introduce Beyond The TREE Line, the email newsletter of the Saint Francis Alumni and Friends Association.

As a member, you will receive the benefit of this e-newsletter with current events and feature stories.  Register as a member and be sure to provide your current email address so you can receive the first issue of Beyond The TREE Line which will be distributed soon.
