Mission Engagement

In our ever-changing and increasingly interconnected world, we serve where God calls us. By leveraging the collective and abundant human potential that makes Saint Francis a unique resource for addressing global issues, we are working to make our mark.

The Five Marks of Mission

Saint Francis Community Services engages the work of our ministry in the spirit of The Five Marks of Mission. Framing our work this way challenges us to innovate to meet the needs and address the challenges of the people we serve – God’s people – as the Church in the world.

  • Tell
Proclaim the Good News of Christ by telling our story and living it through our words and example.
  • Teach
Teach others about how we nurture children and families and dedicate ourselves to continuous learning.
  • Tend
Respond to human needs by loving service to our clients, our communities, and to one another.
  • Transform
Make a difference by challenging injustice and violence of every kind and pursuing peace and reconciliation within our organization and in the wider world.
  • Treasure
Value the blessings in all that we are, all that we do, and all that we receive.

Five Marks of Mission

Clover House

Clover House

Clover House is a new, restorative residential program for adolescent girls who have experienced the unique and complex trauma of child sex trafficking. Our focus is on the whole person, giving each the time and space to discover a future of possibility on a path toward physical, psychological, and spiritual wellness, strengthened by community and by grace. A homelike environment fosters growth and healing at Clover House, bringing together girls who have a shared experience, mentors who provide care, acceptance and gentle guidance, and a program that is responsive to the needs and experience of the individual.

Saint Francis Pages

Story has the power to change lives. Pages uses the power of story to provide comfort and connection by putting books into the hands of children to help them deal with trauma and rediscover their inherent worth as children of God.

Pages is:

  • The “Reading and Renewal Room” at our residential treatment facility in Salina, Kansas, which offers a quiet retreat where children healing from trauma can curl up with a good book.
  • “A Book, A Bag, and A Blanket” provides books, bags, and handmade prayer blankets to children separated from their families through out-of-home placement.
  • During family visits, “Saint Francis Book Nooks” provide places where parents and children can share stories and engage in positive, enriching activities.
