Services

Saint Francis Community Services provides a broad range of child and family services.

All Services

Adoption

We work directly with children and youths whose parents have either relinquished their parental rights or had them terminated through the court system. As a result, these children need loving “forever families” to help them heal from the loss of their birth parents and grow into happy, fulfilled adults. Adoption is also a wonderful way to begin or grow your family by making a lifetime commitment to a child.

Alcohol & Drug Counseling

Alcohol & Drug Counseling

The road to recovery is unique for each person. That’s why Saint Francis doesn’t use a “one-size-fits-all” approach to treatment. We provide outpatient and intensive outpatient evidence-based, family-oriented substance abuse programs. We offer help to:

  • Teens ages 12-18 struggling with substance abuse and their families
  • Women seeking permanent solutions to addiction
  • Pregnant women who need education about the effects of substance abuse on their unborn baby
  • Fathers who need a healing environment in which to focus on recovery in body, mind, and spirit

Outpatient Services

Our outpatient services in both Great Bend and Salina, Kansas, helps families involved in our Family Preservation and Foster Care Reintegration programs. The substance abuse program at our Residential Treatment Facility serves youth ages 6-18, so they can successfully transition back into their home communities.

All outpatient programs include:

  • Assessment
  • Referral
  • Substance abuse education
  • Individual, group, and family counseling

Case Management

Child Welfare

The goal of every foster home placement is the eventual return of the child to his or her own family. Once the Department for Children and Families refers a child to foster care, our child welfare staff works hard to place them, when possible, within their home county. In the meantime, we help birth families find the resources they need to correct issues that led to the child’s removal from the home.

Foster Parenting

Foster Parenting

There are many reasons why a child might be placed into foster care, but usually it’s just because a good kid is stuck in a bad situation. We work hard to improve that situation so the child can return to his or her birth family. In the meantime, foster parents play a vital role in providing for the care and protection of the child temporarily placed in their home. It’s an important job, and it carries with it the potential to change lives – both the child’s and your own.
